About Us
Your Voice,
Our Mouths
The Punch & Judy is one of New York University's most time-honored traditions. Founded on October 28th, 1929, we have spent the last century providing The People of The Village with important stories that challenge us and push the boundaries of free speech in this nation.
Uncensored, Unburdened, Unbound.
In all seriousness, The Punch & Judy represents classic satire that pushes boundaries. We don't strive to be lighthearted; we believe that what makes us laugh is among the greatest sources of our introspection. And we also believe that great satire can often push beyond the confines of humor and into something greater; something that can change the world.
Our mission is simple: One day, in a hundred and fifty years, some high-school sophomore will see one of our cartoons below a DBQ. And when asked what it says about our era... they actually have a cohesive answer.
